one last one
well i'mt trying to blog as much as i can before 5. yes i should have blogged earlier but i'm a
well the topic which springs to mind, is technological sweatshops.
technological sweatshops, so from what i understand they are sweatshop like places established in 3rd world countries where people are paid to create personalities for onlne games which are then sold to western countries and their players.
this is considered morally wrong, yet the people who have access to these computers which are used for teh technological sweat shops ahve access to items which noramlly they wouldn't. that is computers. so it forms a double edged sword. you may notice that my thoughts on alot of topics have both a positive and negative side this isn't becuase i cannnot make up my mind but becuase i choose to see both views.
the comparison i make with techno sweatshops, is to a story my own parents have told me. In El Salvaddor during the late 80's sweat shops were far and wide, this was not a result of evil, tyrants who controlled or owned the factories it was due to the political policy of teh time. See if sweat shop oweners paid their workers more, then prices would go up, which meant that foreign companies would go to other nations and get sweat shop labour from them. This couldn't happen, the government needed this money to help fuel the war which was going on. Thus factory owners were forced in many circumstances to continue the sweat shop trade. what fualt do factory owners have if they are pyschically forced, sometimes at gun point to continue the trade.
so many of the owners paid sweat shop owners in alternative motives. They paid minimal wage, but gave out housing, food, medical supplies and other life nessecities. In other words, sweat shop workers recieved access to materials which they otherwise would not have access to, not to mentoin that in 3rd world countries, while sweat shops pay minimal wages it's still alot more than nothing. Which is what a large part of the population may recieve. If there are people working there it's becuase they need the money.
so thats teh link i see with technolical sweat shops, yes i know they are terrible things and i do not endorse them in any way shape or form, but they do give people access to items which would otherwise be unatainable.
Also the benefits from using these items is also important.
education in computing, technological education.
well there is otehr but i can't think of any at the moment.
and thats is my rant
i'm going to eat, tehn bust out another of these blogs. if only i could figure out the date and time written so i could make john think i have been blogging all semester.....
