In El Salvaddor during the late 80's sweat shops were far and wide, this was not a result of evil, tyrants who controlled or owned the factories it was due to the political policy of teh time. See if sweat shop oweners paid their workers more, then prices would go up, which meant that foreign companies would go to other nations and get sweat shop labour from them. This couldn't happen, the government needed this money to help fuel the war which was going on. Thus factory owners were forced in many circumstances to continue the sweat shop trade. what fualt do factory owners have if they are pyschically forced, sometimes at gun point to continue the trade.

so many of the owners paid sweat shop owners in alternative motives. They paid minimal wage, but gave out housing, food, medical supplies and other life nessecities. In other words, sweat shop workers recieved access to materials which they otherwise would not have access to, not to mentoin that in 3rd world countries, while sweat shops pay minimal wages it's still alot more than nothing. Which is what a large part of the population may recieve. If there are people working there it's becuase they need the money.

so thats teh link i see with technolical sweat shops, yes i know they are terrible things and i do not endorse them in any way shape or form, but they do give people access to items which would otherwise be unatainable.

Also the benefits from using these items is also important.
education in computing, technological education.

well there is otehr but i can't think of any at the moment.

and thats is my rant
i'm going to eat, tehn bust out another of these blogs. if only i could figure out the date and time written so i could make john think i have been blogging all semester.....

jaime francisco marin

yeah, thats my full name

Worst Blogger Ever

Well i'm sorry. I am officially the worst blogger ever.

It's not my fualt, i just alwasy forget, adn when i'm out and about i think, hey, thats something good to write about but then i never do, and you know why. becuase i'm the worst blogger ever. Sorry John, i know this might not make you happy. Ohh and i'm a really bad typer and speller.

On another note, something that has stuck with me from out recent online chatroom sesssions is this. People and the social rules which dictate their behaviour. More specifically we talked about how in a virtual world, people can openly and with greater ease introduce themselves to strangers and recieve a positive response, that being that the person you contact responds. However, we can't do that in the pyshical world. I think that sucks, and i was wondering why we can't. Social rules have evolved, in such a way that at university, I feel like i cannot sit down next to someone in a lecture and start a conversation. Even in a tute unless forced to by a group activity it is rare that the collegue next to you will begin an open conversation, but why?

Is it driven by a sexual motive. I am a male, does this mean that if i started a conversation with a female, it would be automatically assumed I am attracted to her? If i started conversing with another male is that also seen as inappropriate? Does me being open to meet other males make others question my sexuality? As bold as this seems i sometimes feel that is the case.

Or could the social paradigm be caused by social reasons and subculturaly grouping classifications. By this I mean that, would people only feel comfortable talking to me, if i appeared to be from the same or similar subculture. By this i mean, i appear to be either a skater ora jock for example. Or that we share similar interests such as music, films, clothes etc. Lets face when we select who we talk to, often it is based on the persons appearance and our mindset to wether we would communicate similar interests.

However and bear with me i'm getting to my point. Online i feel these discrepencies that we evaluate when selecting our newly acquired friends. We select certain chatrooms, certain interest groups and basically my biggest point being whilst we have the ability to seek new interests, we ignore most other options. Thus how can we become interested in new groups, ideas and differently cultured people.

although at the same time, we are convinclingly more open to meeting new people. It's a weird paradox, we are more open to new things, yet, we tend to seek out information and people who are into the the same similar interests.

Whoa i just read that and i started off going somewhere with it, then i got confused, relooped and now i'm here debating the existance of humanity as an entity.

thats why i'm the worst Blogger Ever.

Jaime

Well well well

well well well i tried to join a communty today. They were tops, ours was great i thought, and i was really happy working with the team members. we propposed Q Film Scene, largly based on Counrtney's idea, (word courtney) we came up with a really good concept.

also i missed a aocuple of lectures here and there, but i was working alot and it wasnt my fualt, i really had to work, so the last lecture i got was about trains. It was pretty cool, to be honest i thought that at first it wasn't going to be interesting at all, but suprized me. Actually was a little impressed by how people got so into the trains idea and how people could manipulate the direction of the game so much. I was stoked withAlex teh Kid of my Master System 2. but wow, trains was a bit intense.

anyhow i am off to camp and mould hte lives of young children til thursday so expect a large numbes of entires then.
